(due to a seriously damaging grounding, fire, explosion, sinking, etc.) is not covered by Membership dues.  Salvage
awards and recovery fees are normally covered by hull insurance and are billed accordingly.
Privacy Statement:
The Ontario Boating League (OBL) respects the privacy of individuals as set out by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.  The OBL will not pass along any personal information without first having received authorization from each individual, except in cases where the individual requires on the water emergency assistance from a third party.

We'll do our Very Best, but the Ontario Boating League cannot Guarantee Rescue.
In every event presenting Danger, the Coast Guard should be contacted.

In many areas of Georgian Bay, the Coast Guard can be reached directly by keying *16 on a cell-phoneOn a VHF Radio, channel 16 say Mayday (three times),  say your location and nature of difficulty; The Coast Guard or nearby boaters will reply.  If you are unable to contact us directly, be sure to ask the Coast Guard to contact us.  We'll Come Too!

Keep in Mind, our service area extends well beyond the range of your VHF Radio.  But Cell-Phone Communications are very good throughout most of the area.  No cell-phone service?  Please use your VHF Radio (channel 85) & ask the Coast Guard for a radio patch to us!
