With everyone onboard, the operator of the pleasure craft should inform guests of the following Safety Points;
the location of Pfd's & Lifejackets, how to choose the correct size (and don them), how to don them in the water, the effects of cold-shock, (why it's so important to always wear a Pfd while on deck or in an open cockpit, especially when the water is cold), the location of the first-aid & emergency-kit, the importance of staying low, on the centreline, and holding on to a rigid part of the boat whenever moving around, keep hands, arms & legs well inside the boat whenever leaving or approaching a dock, how to reduce the nasty affects of motion, sunlight, waves, wind, noise & alcohol, what each persons role will be in the event of an emergency, (who takes the wheel if the skipper falls ill?)
